Sitting here on the holiday break, watching countless reruns of "Quantum Leap" really puts things into perspective for me. I used to watch this show when I was a kid; my brother and I loved it. Dr. Samuel Beckett would jump from one life in need to another, each jump was different and he always had to play it off the cuff. The theme song was a little too 80's ish, and somewhat misplaced... but I still loved it. Thinking about how busy I get and stressed out I make myself I can't help but see a small resemblance between me and the main character of Quantum Leap. My day job as a sales cowboy at a growing online marketing firm means that I need to be distinctly shrewd and direct in managing my time and prospect and Always Be Closing (ABC).
Everything is calculated and deals often close by sheer luck or by outright force - conversely, my ventures in starting a business in photography and trying to get my name out there into the big world means that the contrast between my daily responsibilities in sales and all of the free time and weekends that I spend with photography is a welcomed dichotomy. I love being able to work hard during the day and either shoot bands like Mickey Avalon, LMFAO and Busta Rhymes or bounce between San Diego and Los Angeles in doing different engagement shoots for new couples. Its a welcomed balance between creativity and hard nosed business tactics. My only regret is that the last 2 years have gone by entirely too fast.
My last update featured Wanderlei Silva, of Pride FC and UFC fame, a man known as the axe murderer. Now, jump to this update.... We have Mr. Right - Mickey Avalon. Some of you my know the backstory on Mickey Avalon, before international fame and stardom. Before his was spitting rhymes with Andre Legacy and Dirt Nasty - He worked in a big city as a male escort. Talk about 2 different characters.
Almost like beauty and the beast. At least you'll be surprised by my next update.
Stayed tuned, and keep supporting me. All you need to do is show, and be you. xoxo
